This whole "Man vs Wild" show is a cheap American rip-off of a Canadian show called "Survivor Man" (
www.survivorman.ca) by a real wilderness expert called Les Stroud....
Except the Canadian dude does it for real. He has no camera crew following him...just a ton of camera equipment that he has to lug himself and a satellite phone if he gets hurt.
Basically he has to carry the equipment.....set it up....go back....do his trek/climb again....and recollect the equipment...
