Actually, from what I heard on TWIT, diggnation didn't drop off for abusing the ranking system. They dropped off because someone used the "Report a concern" button and selected "This podcast is mine and I would like it removed from the music store." I guess as of last week there was no actual validation that you were the podcast owner. Who knows if they've fixed that yet.
