Three years ago I cut through 2/3rds of my right thumb with a power saw. It wasn't too "weird" an injury, but it sucked big time. I freaked out, wrapped it in a shop towel, and ran into the house and called 911. Wife and kids weren’t home, so I just cried like a little girl while the 911 gal talked me down as much as she could. There was a tremendous amount of blood. I was going into shock when maybe 5-10 minutes later EMS showed up and took me to the hospital. The surgeon was amazing and because of her talent I have nearly 100% use of it today.
I have pictures when I was changing bandages about a week after the accident, if it's appropriate to post I can post one.
