Ive read a lot of the 'pickup' material, and I think a lot of it was misinterpreted by you guys.The 'negs' you read were actually bad examples, negs are not supposed to be insulting, but rather a subtle way of showing non-neediness, i.e that you are not intimidated by her beauty. Really hot girls know they are hot and get hit on constantly, so it's supposed to be a way of setting yourself apart from the crowd.Some negs are also designed to pay her a backhanded compliment.
Another thing people dont realise is that Mystery's method is probably the hardest and most complicated "school" of pickup.I seem to recall Mystery or another 'pua' saying it was as hard to master as a musical instrument.So they are taking total geeks and throwing them right into the deep end with this stuff, which is never going to work.It takes a lot of practice and experimentation, which is why Intern Mike found it so overwhelming.
I find the pickup stuff absolutely fascinating, if you take a PROPER look at some of the material, you have really talented guys who are basically armchair psychologists with no training, but have managed to figure out exactly what attracts women and why.While I dont use any of Mystery's routine's specifically, I've used a lot of the ideas myself (and not just on drunk party chicks, I might add), and they really work.The whole thing has changed my attitude to socialising and self-improvement, and I am a much better and happier person for it.I think the problem is most people just feel the way they are is set in stone...they feel like they are just not attractive to women, or are just unable to talk to women, or they are inept in social situations.The truth is that these things arent set in stone and you CAN change them if you really want to, and that's really what the pickup stuff is all about.
