You can't knock something before you try it.
I identified as gay all the way through high school. (I came out in 8th grade.)
But then by senior year...I had never been with a woman.
I decided I needed to try it.
I ended up sleeping with my best GIRL friend about 2 times a week for almost a year.
Now, I like guys a lot more than women. And I've slept with a lot more guys than I have women. However, I don't really care what gender I end up with. As long as, either way, he/she doesn't end up pregnant.
As far as advice for our friend...
Don't worry about it. Don't stress out. Live your life. Don't worry about who your friends are, gay or straight. Just be yourself. When it happens, it happens. But the more you build it up in your head, the more disappointed you're going to be.
