There are contracts and agreements in place for companies to distribute their wares through Google, Microsoft, etc. Some stuff leaks through, but Google is not going to risk illegal distribution of materials and pending lawsuits. The companies who have their videos on Google video, Yahoo video, etc. can make money off of those sites via advertising.

I don't think KATG is the right example here. They put on a show for free, but have merchandise. Pirate the merchandise and keep them from making money on it, then that's a better example.
