From personal experience.... There is no way to control the amount of alcohol once you reach a certain point in drinking. People that drink socially can say that they will cut down. People that drink to buzz, and have a good time, can't cut back. You're not in it for the fun anymore, you're drinking because you want to hit that spot where you are sloshed. That's why they say an alcoholic can't have just one drink.

Are you an alcoholic? Probably not. Try not drinking for a week. Easy way to tell. You'll want to have a couple since it's in your daily routine. That's normal. If you lose your shit and drink, then you may have an issue.

I picked out 3 days in the week where I will not touch booze for whatever reason. Even if it means making a business meeting awkward being the only one who isn't drinking at the table. The days of clarity help, and I've found that I am not drinking as much on the "drinky" days.

You're a young guy Keith. It would be a shame to pickle your organs at this age. It really fucks with you in the later years.
