Yeah, if I wanted to know more, I would have at least asked him what the "real name" for those things are and ask them to explain what those mean.

I remember seeing that a while back--it does make me think of it as the predecessor to South Park's Scientology episode. That really just needs a "THIS IS WHAT MORMONS ACTUALLY BELIEVE" supertext at the bottom and it would fit.
As for whether it turns me off on the guest...nah. There's wierd facets of the religion, definitely, but so does pretty much every other religion in the whole world. The guy's pretty funny and I wouldn't mind seeing him come back on again--if he wants to.
