I loved that judge also. That deaf coach really is just for cheap laughs. As someone who is deaf in one ear I know for a fact it really doesn't work like that. Your other ear makes up for it for the most part. The only thing I have trouble with is finding someone in a crowd when they're calling my name because I have trouble locating sound.
