I wonder if the opening sentence is an actual quote from GlaDOS. That would be an interesting turn, because it would mean that she actually remembers what happened in the first portal (which could mean a completely different attitude and atmosphere, since her Jeffrey Dahmer like courtesy and emotional instability were part of her charm).
