A difference of degree?
Michael Jackson was alleged to have touched children, and many say he did, but because of his music, a lot of those who think he did touch children, seem to think we should forgive Michael and forget what happened.
Roman Polanski was convicted of drugging and raping someone, which is definitely a crime, and a lot of these same people seem to think that because of his inspirational movies, he should be forgiven and everyone should forget what he did.
It makes me wonder if the same people would, if Hitler was instead of being inferior painter, a great painter, argue that he be forgiven the killing of somewhere between 11 and 14 million people and that we should forget about what happened? If Roman Polanski had killed so many Poles, Communists, political opponents, members of resistance groups, homosexuals, Roma, physically handicapped, mentally retarded, Soviet prisoners of war, Jehovah's Witnesses, 7th day Adventists, trade unionists, psychiatric patients, and ... who was it ... oh yes, Jews, as Hitler did, would we hear these same people arguing that we should forget what he did, because he makes such great movies?
I think it is all a matter of scale. Keith is, of course, right. A small crime against one, is no different than a large crime against 11 million. If only Keith's Justice could apply, then people like Roman Polanski, wouldn't rape drugged girls.
