Badge, i see my own people portareyed as bumbling buffoon in one movie out of ten. My country has never been respected in the portrayal of its history.
Spike Lee shat on Italian history all over with Miracle At StAnna and when he was addressed about the inaccuracies he said "I know perfectly the background of my movies. If you italians have problems dealing with the facts, then it's your fault".
So i understand that a critic or a journalist might think that it's importanti
address the issue of the accent of a fictional character played by a new Zealander... But really. There have been worse accent mangling cases in Hollywood history, and they have been overlook.
Again, Crowe thinks to be a better actor than he actually is, and he could've acted more professionallt. But Lawson is, and was, a scat-muncher.
