The first season is extremely good, but with the second it becomes absolute perfectrion.
Not only it's shot and directed beautifylly (it manages to mix suburban dark/comedy, gritty action and a bit of "Requiem for a dream" like surralism. Without ripping off none of those), acted beyond perfection (Cranston practically covers the whole spectrum of emotions, sometimes with a simple stare) but it manages to swing you emotionally in a way that at the end you're just exhausted. It brings you from sheer terror to hysterical laughter via bleak soberness in a burst.
It stays, with "The Wire", as one of my favourite anything.
