And the last Sam And Max series "The Devil's Playhouse" which is so beautiful, funny and well done it's a shame to ignore it.

Worth noting that Just Cause 2, Metro and (I think) Battlefield Bad Company 2 use steamworks (enter CD key into steam, throw away CD) so check retail prices first.
