Hey Camps try the Couch to 5k program, I started it recently and Im pleasantly surprised by the results. The build up in intensity is such that you don't get discouraged and all you really have to do is set aside a schedule during the week to do it and you're set.
Other than that I have read that the human body often confuses hunger with dehydration, so upping ones water intake can drastically improve weight loss success.
