There's no way a kid that outsized gets to the point of punching that kid in the face repeatedly on the first try. There's no way they are set up to record it on the first try. They thought they knew how it would go because they'd had rehearsals.

Still, the kid could have run away. Which I'm glad he didn't do, but self-defense is becoming less and less of an excuse, legally speaking. New Jersey has no self-defense rule. And they are never on the forefront of anything so there must be other states that operate that way as well. If they were in New Jersey (and old enough) the big kid could be in jail.

Suspension does seem stupid in general as a punishment, like Chemda said, but even more specifically in this case, I wish the bully didn't get suspended. In 21 days he might not have that limp anymore and he should have to walk around school with it for as long as possible.
