Okay, Chemda, I am a girl who is also a geek and loves Game of Thrones (and the book series that it is based on). And I will be totally honest with you. If you do not like violence and killing, you will not like this series. One of the things about this series of books is that the author loves to abruptly kill off major characters. It's pretty much filled with death.
Nerds, we have to be willing to let people not enjoy the things we enjoy. Not everyone has the same interests. And that's okay.
