Here's one thing about military health care: doctors in the military can't get sued for malpractice. It's true.
And how did I find that out?
I had an incredible ear ache. I went to the military doctor. While he was listening to my chest and looking at my throat, he was telling me how he was a general practice doctor in civilian life, but his malpractice insurance had gotten too high since he had been sued about three time for malpractice.
He then writes me a prescription and hands it to me.
As I am sitting there, he asks, "Is there anything else?"
"Uh, yeah," I said. "It's my EARS that ache. Maybe you might want to look at them?"
He took the prescription from my hands and crumpled it up. He looked at my ears and then wrote me a new prescription.
Yeah, I don't have fond memories of the military's "free" health care.
