2. An intelligent, single-minded expert in a particular technical discipline, profession or subject.
I added "subject" to the second definition and I would also say that the second definition is the more classical definition of the word "nerd." I think its safe to say that everyone on the Keith and the Girl forum is in fact a Keith and the Girl nerd. Also Mike Lawrence is pretty fucking awesome.
On wrestling, I'm not a fan of wrestling but I would say the overly exaggerated, bombastic nature of the acting is the appeal. For me the handful of anime that I watch and thoroughly enjoy is chock full of hyperbolic shit talking and over the top fights. I understand that as story telling goes it barely passes but for what it is, its fun and entertaining. Wrestling is just Sex in the City but with more punching.
