i dont know how biased BBC Newshour is but i'm hearing their coverage of the story.
one of the freed prisoner is a man jailed for assisting a suicide bomber and, interviewed, he basically stated that this release will be seen as incentive to fight more.
quote "the footsoldiers are contemplating to return to violence".
So, besides the obvious point that this would happen anyway, i think that the negotiation was a bad resolution.
has this ever happened in the us? freeing known terrorists in order to get back hostages?
