As far as the screws go, maybe the Apple Store was just being cool. I really doubt they would try to pull a fast one and not do any work. They've always done more than what I ask for, like sending my MacBook in for a worn out key and them replacing the case which had some dings, the trackpad, the graphics and airport because they weren't testing 100% on the diagnostics.

I've reset the phone back to factory settings several times, but no dice. As for the Apple store folks, this is a very new store and the first in Arkansas. I didn't have very high expectations for these people just for the simple fact they haven't had time to have enough experience.
