Besides, the 53% thing misses the points of getting money out of politics and holding corporations responsible for their malfeasance. I should hope that we can all agree that the ideal country is one where we work together to get ahead, not one where we try and fuck each other over and see who ends up on top and who ends up on the street.

What point ? This bullshit with the 99% doesn't have a point, thats the problem. We now have a bunch of people sitting around in city's doing nothing, crime rates in the area going up, local businesses being shut down and no real message. If you work 70 hours a week then most likely you are doing well or you need to get a better education. I have many problems with the corporate control over washington but laughable protesters who can't get their shit together don't change anything.
