On Keith’s European/Non-European experience; In all my years working in retail I’ve found that most people just let things go. I’ve worked with the rudest, most cuntastic assholes and found that the most people will do is pull me to the side and tell me what an ass my co-worker is rude. I’ve even made suggestions that the customer just mention it to management and it wouldn’t be the first complaint against the employee. They usually respond with; “I don’t want anyone to lose their jobs…” The only times things have ever escalated to something physical is in stores that are in really ghetto areas. In the South Bronx if you give a customer attitude, they will beat your ass and even then its only like 5% of the time.

Also, I would trust my mythical daughters choice in boyfriends and allow them to make mistakes within reason. Keith isn’t a meth-head, to the best of my knowledge so go nuts.
