The first time I saw A Perfect Circle the stage was too small for him to hide. Someone took a photo of him with a flash and he stopped the show and said something like, please don't as it could make him blind and if anyone else took a flash photo he was leaving. So yeah, I think he started hiding because of sensitivity to light.

All these musical rediscoveries around this time are great to listen to. I imagine he's had a lot of people recommend stuff but Keith should check out Motorpsycho from Norway who have been around since about 1989 and are still releasing great albums. The first two aren't great (when they were still finding their sound) but from 1994 on it's almost uniformally brilliant rock albums, except a couple where they tried their hand at Jazz and 60's/ 70's Californian pop.
