Crowdfunding works because it's based on The Crowd. The clue is right there in the name. If Spike Lee has earned a large crowd he gets large Funds. I love Rev Jen and wish she'd gotten her cash money to do her movie but if she didn't make enough it's because she didn't put in enough work to make people want to shell out for her. The fact that even Chemda didn't know about it speaks volumes. And Jen not being bitter about it only made me love her more.
We supported the KATG Kickstarter because KATG had done the work to prove their value and promote their project. It's how the world is supposed to work. And by "the world" I mean U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A!
