My first cat was mis-sexed. The woman who I adopted him from said "he" was a girl, and I believed her. But I took him in for his first vet visit a few days after I got him. The vet flipped "her" around, looked under "her" tail, and said, "And she's a he!" (Their testicles don't descend right away) So Maxwell Smart (formerly known as Mali) was only misgendered for the first few weeks of his life.
