Thanks for the reply! Oh my bad, I shouldn't have mentioned how homophobia is institutionalized by conservative whites in my argument. I should have focused on anecdotes about who eats pussy and who doesn't based on race. The ease of coming out has a lot to do with how liberal one's friends and family are. I still think its extremely difficult for those who want to come out to their friends and family in white conservative christian areas. Especially when laws against them are being supported by their own community. Also the white term for down low is just "in the closet".
