I enjoy living in a medium-sized city that is close in driving distance to larger cities. We have small neighbourhoods and there's a sense of community.

New York has way too many people and creeps (because of the higher population), and I'm always surprised by stories told on the various KATG podcasts. It's insane that people tolerate some of the described behaviour.
