did a show a few years ago that used stories from the deaf community. we brought in a consultant and everything because we had a non-deaf actress portraying a deaf character. i get everybody's discomfort. sometimes deaf people can be dicks. they'll tell you that themselves. God forbid you don't know the difference between deaf with a little 'd' and Deaf with a big 'D.' they'll be quick to correct yuh knowledge.


that being said, would much rather be deaf than blind: Chemda made a good argument, sign language is awesomely clandestine as well as beautifully functional, and i would not like to lose my ability to read faces or use my tools.
