I'm embarrassed to say that the representative who thought that women couldn't get pregnant during rape/incest because their bodies would shut down from the trauma is from Idaho. He came out with a statement the next day saying that he was recently given new information about how much of a fucking idiotic shitstain he was (my words, not his) about those subjects and that he should have just kept his mouth shut.
There was another dumbass from Idaho that made national news last year when he asked a doctor if women would be able to swallow a pill sized camera instead of getting a transvaginal exam, which was being argued at that time as invasive and unnecessary for a woman to go through just to get an abortion. The doctor then explained to him that since a woman's stomach is not connected to her uterus/vagina, that particular procedure would be completely useless. That representative also conveniently sits on the board for a crisis pregnancy center that scares women into continuing their pregnancies with false information, and then shames those same women for needing financial help down the road.
