I think the part of the pitbull debate I still can't get my head around is that, yes I do believe a pitbull could be raised to be a good dog, but why do we want to open the door for the increased risk.

It reminds me of the handgun vs. assault weapon discussion. Yes, guns can be used responsibly, but why do we want to have people keeping assault weapons in their home? They seem to be more likely to cause major damage so we just tell people "No you don't get to have that because we have seen this go sideways in the past..."
