Does anyone else think it's totally possible Halle WAS actually hypnotised?? I've heard descriptions of people being put under where they said they didn't remember much, and coming out of it felt like waking up.

This is similar to what happens in Get Out, he barely has any memory of being hypnotized at first.
I guess we'll never know, although if you snap your fingers and she starts quacking like a duck or something it's probably a sign.
