It's different. They were talking shit about a former employee (and ostensibly a friend) to an audience of his fans and peers, on a platform that is part of the field he is pursuing a career in. He spent years establishing his reputation among that community. He also dedicated years of his life and soul to those people and their work (in more ways than you will ever know), you'd imagine they would grant him more consideration.
At no point in the past five months did Andrea or Chemda attempt to address their grievances with him directly. Instead, they had a public conversation about them (and the accompanying narratives/rationalizations they've settled on), and did so under conditions where he had no voice. No ability to defend himself or clarify the narrative.
It was inconsiderate. And hurtful. And unprofessional.
I understand that listeners may only think of these folks as entertainers, whose job it is to talk shit--nothing being off limits. But it's also supposed to be a professional business operation, and (I thought) a family of sorts. on both of those fronts, this conversation violated fundamental good faith practices. It's just shitty.
