Totally agree with Apia. Bullying is not acceptable.

I talk to my kids everyday and I've already had to nip some bullying in the bud at my son's preschool. He kept complaining about Mason and how they were enemies. Mason would hit him everyday. It didn't take much, just an email to the teacher and administrator that there would be unspecified consequences if they were not kept apart. My son reported improved results.

Kids get toughened up in soccer and t-ball practice, they don't need it while they're learning to read.

I think part of the problem back in the day is that parents didn't talk to their kids. I wonder if part of the problem in Keith's family specifically is that there were so many kids it would be much harder to keep track of everyone's problems.
