I did Landmark Forum years ago on the recommendation of Rashan, who also went through it. Overall, it was a good opportunity to uncover some emotional cruft and to learn some new tools for living, but it wasn't the overnight cure to all of life's problems.

The tough part was physically being in a windowless conference room for three days. That's no joke. The chairs were giving us back spasms by the end, which we wondered were part of the training itself — some physical discomfort to see if you can detach your mind from the real world. Probably, just cheap chairs.

The cult-like part comes after — when the phone calls start. They want you back. They want you to take more courses, and even to volunteer or take the same weekend seminar again, this time with more insight. I had to tell them off so many times.
