I had something similar happen in my biology class, though it was unofficial. In my 10th grade biology class I was being disruptive during a lesson about evolution because I was an Evangelical Christian shithead. The teacher made me stay after class and gave me some Intelligent Design drivel when the other kids weren't around. After that I didn't cause problems in that class.
To this day I don't know if she was secretly into ID, just trying to shut me up or both.

ETA: that happened during the "technically we have to teach evolution" portion of the class.
