my local buddhist temple has an open (newcomers welcome) "interfaith" (non-religious or "higher pwer") focused meetings. i've never gotten phone numbers or any pressure. there is an optional mediation (like no talking, so if you're not into it you can just listen to podcasts in your earbuds). if you look for interfaith, buddhist centers, usually you can find aa, coda, alanon and na for the restivus. best of luck.
