As a non-american hearing about these Al-Anon meetings feels like hearing the cultural customs of an other worldly tribe that was just discovered in the Amazon. Does anyone else feel this way? Is AA prominent in Europe?

We have Al-Anon in Australia too, I just didn't know it existed until I heard about it on KATG a few years back.
