Everything about birth seems so intense and gory.

Especially c-sections.

Literally digging out the organs of a person and throwing them on a side table then cutting through their uterus to pull an alien looking baby out.

Then just throwing the organs back in there and sewing them up.

It's such a morbid thing for the opposite of dying.

Then, this person who just had their entrails removed has to care for the little alien alone while recovering from surgery because paternal leave is mostly not a thing here.

[I hear C-sections are much better now. But my mom has a scar across her stomach from one hip to the other from two of them. Two decades later she got a hysterectomy that took twice as long as usual because of layers and layers of scar tissue the surgeon had to cut through.]
