Something that I've done, and now my kids do with me, is to write and record songs for people as gifts. We've not done it for everybody on Christmas but have done it for birthdays, Mothers Day, anniversary's, etc...
The songs aren't amazing but they hit your intended target in the feels and clearly shows you put more thought into it than a gift card or something.
