It's being called premature escalation.

If you continuously text a person you haven't met yet and they're an expert at charming people via texts, you build up ideas of who they are and what you two can be. You'll have high expectations and if it doesn't go anywhere it can be more heartbreaking than it would've been otherwise. Whether you're communicating via text or the app (I prefer text because dating apps become exhausting after a while), always meet up with them in person as soon as you can.
