Shame VS Guilt

If you google Shame VS Guilt, the following comes up.

Shame is a focus on self, guilt is a focus on behavior. Shame is, "I am bad." Guilt is, "I did something bad."

I think there’s a lot of shame in this world. Maybe too much. It’s not healthy. But I think guilt is a necessary feeling. I wonder if people are confusing the two, or if they just can’t be bothered with feelings of, “oh I should not have eaten that”

There’s a reason we feel guilt. No other animal on the planet experiences it. It’s important. It can suck, but it can also be helpful.
