My family celebrates Xmas Eve not Xmas day. I literally have never done anything on Christmas day so I often don't even think of it as Christmas.
SO... I go home from college for Xmas and I'm arguing with my shitty abusive ex about how he cheated on me and I said to him "I'm with my family right now. I can't talk rn." Thinking in my head that I'm going to break up with him tomorrow when Christmas is over. The next day, I call him and tell him it's over and he texts me later (to guilt me) to say he was with his family celebrating Christmas and I'm thinking "it's not Christmas...." And then it clicks that oh yeah... People do celebrate on this day.
