I wonder if the entire business model of MoviePass is something like this:

X # of emails (or whatever data they’re collecting) = fucktons of money

Minus

X $ paid to movie theaters to cover movie tickets

Plus

X $ income from MoviePass holders


Still equals a profit.

Maybe they know that it’s a losing enterprise in the short term but the money made over time from selling the info still makes a profit over the long term. So maybe they expected the “money to run out” but planned for it in their business model.
