As someone who lives in Houston and went through Harvey...if it’s a mandatory evacuation leave, everyone thinks it’s just a little bit of water until they are on the roof trying to flag for help. I never knew flooding could be so damaging and I was once one of those “I’m not leaving my house it’s just some water” people, but seeing the city after Harvey, volunteering and hearing the stories changed me. I was lucky enough not to flood.
