There are different qualities of tents and temp ratings. If you’re camping at a National Park in early Autumn, then you can get by on a cheap tent. You need higher quality (more expensive) gear if you’re multiday backpacking in the legit wilderness where you can’t walk to your car and drive to the local Walmart to replace something.
