re: dating on the webs

I feel like when it comes to dating online there's this confrontation of fantasy/thrills, what people want and what people will accept.

People getting off on another online slightly anonymous space where they can pretend to be more or less sexual than they really are. The Master Sexters who are super shy in real life, getting to talk about all their hidden kinks and fantasies.
Then there's the often inflated sense of what someone wants. The mother fuckers with long ass lists of what their Into and Not Into, the personalities they like and don't like, the star signs they match and don't match. Fail to check off the right box and they are immediately not interested without knowing anything real about you.
Finally there's what people accept. Mostly everyone will at least start a dialog when another person expresses interest. Who doesn't like feeling wanted? Desired? But then, eventually, the ego boost they get from the conversations and the excitement they feel from making plans aren't enough to outweigh the fact that this person didn't check off enough of the right boxes and it's Ghost Time.

XOXOX
Someone who overthinks things and has been on these apps and websites too long
