And, Georgia is #1 in the country in maternal mortality, and #6 in the country in infant mortality. Are they doing fuck all to reduce the incidence of wanted babies dying, of pregnant women dying? NOPE. Because this isn't about saving lives and it NEVER HAS BEEN.
Edit: Also, Ohio's new law includes the coverage of ectopic pregnancy in their ban of insurance companies "covering abortion." Ectopic pregnancy, which is tremendously dangerous and kills women in a matter of days, by the way. But this bill says health providers are required to retrieve the embryo and re-implant it in the womb. In the meantime there will be all sorts of bureaucratic hoops that health providers will have to jump through while the woman is at constant risk of bleeding out when her fallopian tube ruptures.
But all of this is about protecting LIFE.
