I'm not a parent, so maybe it's easier said than done, but no I don't think we should ever hit kids. Maybe applied correctly it can work in some circumstances, but it can also fuck them up.
Seems most times a parent is hitting their child it's because they've lost control.
Anyway, Mike didn't seem to be harmed by it at all
