Also with the whole catholic priest thing, here is the Wikipedia link [URL][/https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priesthood_in_the_Catholic_Church?wprov=sfti1 URL]

Highlights
- in the US you have to have a degree in Philosophy and then go to the seminary for 4 to 5 years graduate level education studying bible research. Typically they get a Master of Divinity.
- A Bishop has to do the ordination
- during the rite of ordination the person who is called a deacon becomes a priest during holy mass. They recite the Litany of the saints-I’ll bet he doesn’t remember it.

Pretty sure that since he is no longer a priest, which is a huge fucking deal in the Catholic Church as it is supposed to be a life long commitment, that it would be unethical for him to continue to do any “duties” of the priest, especially Pre-Cannon. It wouldn’t count.

Also-I’m a federal employee. There are always hiring freezes as certain presidents like to throw their power around. If someone had alreAdy gone through the background checks, they would have been hired at that point. No one could be hired after that point unless the position was considered to be critical to keeping government operations going. And each head of the various departments can submit lists of jobs that are considered to be critical.

But there is no point telling your dad all of this because he’ll find a way around it.
